OMG, we’re four year’s old!
We will be celebrating our birthday in style at London’s historic Royal Vauxhall Tavern on Friday 22 January. To help us celebrate we will be joined by EUROVISION WINNER Linda Martin!
Linda won the Eurovision Song Contest for Ireland in 1992, kicking off Ireland’s amazing winning streak. Her song “Why Me?” was written by Irish Eurovision legend Johnny Logan and went on to be a hit across Europe. Linda was also runner-up in Eurovision 1984 with fan favourite, “Terminal 3”, now sung by Eurovision fans any time they go to an airport!
Since winning Eurovision, Linda has continued to appear on TV and stage in Ireland. She has also continued to perform her Eurovision songs across Europe and secured her place in the heart of fans after her forthright views when judging Ireland’s Eurovision selection show (yes, we all know which incident we’re referring to).
Of course we’ll also have six hours of non-stop Eurovision, Europop and Schlager all night long, provided by the UK’s leading Eurovision DJ’s Dave Simmons, Don Grant and John Hagley.
As ever we’ll open the doors at 9pm with admission just £5 before 10.30pm and £8 afterwards. An absolute bargain to see a live performance from a Eurovision legend and six hours of Euro-tastic tunes!
Eurofest – the UK’s biggest club night dedicated to the Eurovision Song Contest – is back for 2016!
Taking place at London’s historic and listed Royal Vauxhall Tavern, Eurofest features six hours of non-stop Eurovision, Europop and Schlager, plus of course a live act.
See you there on:
- January 22nd
- April 22nd
- July 22nd
In the meantime, the team at Eurofest would like to wish all our supporters a Merry Christmas, and a Eurotastic 2016!
Happy new year (that’s happy new Eurovision year of course)! September marks the start of a new Eurovision year, and already countries have started choosing their song for 2016. The Dutch have certainly wasted no time in choosing their artist, Douwe Bob, to represent them in Stockholm.
The wheels are in motion for our next Eurofest on Friday 13 November, as ever at London’s historic (and now Grade II listed) Royal Vauxhall Tavern. As well as the usual six hours of Eurovision and Europop from our trio of fab DJs Dave Simmons, Don Grant and John Hagley, we’ve got another fab trio as our live act.
Flying in from Ljubljana will be Sestre, who represented Slovenia in Eurovision 2002! Marlenna, Emperatrizz, and Daphne took to the stage in Tallinn with the unforgettable “Samo Ljubezen“. No one can forget their glamorous red flight attendant outfits and striking red lipstick!
Since then they’ve performed all over Europe, including an appearance on the UK’s notorious “Eurotrash” show, and we’re expecting a memorable performance from them at Eurofest.
As ever, doors will open at 9pm and we charge the bargain price of £5 admission before 10.30pm and £8 after.
You can keep up to date on Facebook by signing up to our event page.
It’s just over a month since the Eurovision 2015 final in Vienna, and the Eurofest team have just about recovered from partying (and the rather wet weather)! For those of you suffering from PED – post-Eurovision depression – fear not because we’ve got some exciting news.
We will be back for our regular club night at the RVT in London on Friday 24 July, and we’ve got a very special guest for you. Flying in from the holiday island of Malta is someone who’s participated in Eurovision not once, not twice, but three times – the amazing Chiara!
Chiara is officially one of the most successful Eurovision participants ever, and by far Malta’s most successful Eurovision performer. She came third in 1998 with “The One That I Love”, only narrowing losing out to the winner, Dana International, on the very last vote (I’m not sure we’ll ever be able to forgive Macedonia for failing to give Chiara any points when announcing the final set of scores). In 2005 Chiara scored Malta’s best-ever Eurovision performance with “Angel” finishing second. She gave it one more go in 2009 with “What If We”, but sadly she wasn’t able to make it third time lucky.
And if Chiara’s performance wasn’t enough to get you along, of course we’ll also have six hours of non-stop Eurovision and schlager anthems from our very own Heroes (see what we did there :-p), our team of DJs Don Grant, John Hagley and Dave Simmons. All this for the bargain price of £5 before 10.30pm and £8 afterwards. No need for tickets in advance, just pay on the door.
And if you can’t quite wait that long before your next Eurovision fix then get yourself along to Bristol Pride on Saturday 11 July where Eurofest is at the Official Pride After Party at the O2 academy. As well as our DJs playing all the Euro-tastic hits there will be live performances from the wonderful Nicki French and Euroband’s Fridrik! Plus they’ve got some fab Eurovision stars performing on the Main Stage during the day (Nicki French; Cheryl, Mike and Jay Formerly of Bucks Fizz; and Ryan Dolan). Get your tickets now!
There’s just three days to go before our next Eurofest on Friday 10 April. This time of year is of course our preview show, in conjunction with Manchester’s Boom Bang-a-Bang preview party. We play you the videos for all 40 of this year’s Eurovision entries and you vote to choose the winner!
It’s an earlier start than normal with doors opening at 7pm for an 8pm start. We do advance tickets for the preview show, and last year we sold out so don’t say we didn’t warn you if the same happens this year! If you want to save all the songs until May then you’re welcome to join us from 11pm onwards and pay £8 on the door as usual.
Our preview show is a great chance to pick your favourites from this year before dancing the night away to at least four hours of fab Eurovision hits and remixes. There’s definitely more ballads and duets this year but there’s plenty of quality songs and we have no idea who the Eurofest crowd will choose as this year’s winner.
We won’t be forgetting the songs from this year’s national finals either so even if your favourite hasn’t made it to Vienna you might hear it at Eurofest. Sweden’s Melodifestivalen always gives us plenty to choose from, but we’re loving Thunderstruck by Erlend Bratland in Norway’s Melodi Grand Prix too. Do let us know if there’s any other national final songs you want to hear at the RVT on Friday!
Good evening London, may we have your votes please!
On Friday 10 April we are once again teaming up with Manchester’s ever-popular Boom-Bang-A-Bang Party for the country’s biggest Eurovision 2015 preview vote!
We will be playing the videos of all 40 entries in this year’s Contest, and then it’s down to YOU to decide who should be the winner in Vienna! By the end of today we will know all the songs that are taking part in this year’s concert, and our preview show is a great way to help you decide who is going to be your favourite this year.
With a number of countries returning to the fold for the contest’s historic 60th edition, plus the debut of that well known European country of Australia, it’s anybody’s guess who will get the votes of UK fans.
If you want to save the songs until May and are just in the mood for a dance, we’ll have four hours of Eurovision and Europop from 11pm from the Eurofest DJs Don Grant, John Hagley and the UK’s leading Eurovision DJ Dave Simmons. As ever you can expect plenty of hits from this year’s Eurovision Song Contest, Eurovisions past and some classic Europop.
For the preview show, doors open from 7pm, and the show kicks off at 8pm prompt. Get there early to get a front row seat! The preview show will be by ticket in advance (£6 plus 60p booking fee), and only available on the door if there are any tickets left. After 11pm you can pay on the door as normal (£8).
Last year we sold out – so book now to avoid disappointment!
A very happy new year from everyone at Eurofest!
With national final season getting underway we’re looking forward to another great year of Eurovision songs. We’re planning on having at least four Eurofests at the RVT this year, signing up to updates from our website, following us on Twitter or liking us on Facebook are the best ways to find out about what is planned and to give us your ideas of who you want to see perform live.
Our first Eurofest of 2015 is just a couple of weeks away – we can’t believe how time has flown by over the last few weeks! As well as the usual six hours of the best Eurovision and Europop, we will be having a live performance from the wonderful Suzy from Portugal! She has performed at a few Eurovision fan events since she represented her country at Eurovision in Copenhagen. Suzy does a great Eurovision set with plenty of songs that we will all recognise.
You don’t need to buy tickets in advance – just come down to the RVT on Friday 23 January and pay on the door. It’s £5 if you arrive before 10.30pm and £8 if you arrive afterwards. Suzy will be on stage around Midnight. We hope to see you there!
