Just two days until our fifth birthday!

magnus-carlsson_webbIt’s just two days to go until Eurofest’s fifth birthday event! And it’s proving to be one of our most popular events ever, with all pre-sale tickets having sold out. We will have around 50 tickets left for sale on the door on a first come, first served basis. So get yourself to the RVT in good time on Friday if you don’t already have a ticket.

As well as the six hours of Eurovision and schlager hits and remixes, we are of course mega excited to have a live performance from the fabulous Magnus Carlsson. Magnus is quite simply Melodifestivalen royalty having performed in the show an amazing eight times! We know he will put on a great show for us.

So let’s hope the snow stays away on Friday and we can get the 2017 Eurovision year off to a great start!

You can keep up to date with news about the event on Facebook and Twitter. See you all on Friday!

Don’t go to Gamla Stan, go to the RVT!

magnusEurofest is turning five years’ old and on Friday 13 January we’re celebrating with a Swedish schlager superstar!

Back in January 2012 London hadn’t yet hosted the Olympics, Loreen was yet to win Eurovision and Brexit was just a twinkle in David Cameron’s eye. Five years on much has changed in the world, but after 20 (!) Eurofests one thing remains the same – our love of all things Eurovision and Schlager!

To help us celebrate in style, flying in from Stockholm is schlager superstar Magnus Carlsson. Magnus has taken part in Melodifestivalen an amazing eight times with Alcazar, Barbados and as a solo artist, most recently in 2015 with the fabulous “Möt mig i Gamla Stan”.

As ever we’re at the Royal Vauxhall Tavern and we’ll be flying the flag for Eurovision all night long with six hours of Eurotastic hits and remixes, provided by the UK’s leading Eurovision DJs Dave Simmons, Don Grant and John Hagley.

Tickets are available from here at £6 (+£0.60 booking fee) if bought in advance, or £8 on the night. Doors will open at 9pm and we will be partying away until 3am.

“The year that schlager died”? Nonsense!

DQ Promo PhotoHave we all got over our Post-Eurovision Depression yet? Either way, what better way to keep the Eurovision fun going than to party the night away to your favourite Eurovision and schlager tunes!

A few Drama Queens have claimed that 2016 was the year schlager died (yes Christer Bjorkman, we’re looking at you). To prove them wrong and to keep the schlager flame burning bright we’re hosting a summer schlager special on Friday 22 July! Our Eurotastic DJs Dave Simmons, Don Grant and John Hagley will be playing loads of schlager and scandipop favourites, old and new, so we can dance the night away. And top it all off, we have a live performance from the schlagertastic DQ!

DQ represented Denmark at the 2007 Eurovision Song Contest with “Drama Queen”, and continues to perform around Europe. As well as “Drama Queen”, DQ will be singing other classics from Eurovisions past. Hopefully there’s enough space on the flight from Copenhagen for her feathered headdress and all her costumes!

So get ready for an evening of key changes, impassioned dance moves and pretending we know the words to Shirley Clamp’s songs.

Doors open at 9pm and admission is just £5 before 10.30pm and £8 afterwards, and we’ll be dancing the night away until 3am.

It’s making your mind up time again!

Martin smallIt’s time to be making your mind up at our Eurovision preview show 2016!

We are once again teaming up with Manchester’s ever-popular Boom-Bang-a-Bang party for the UK’s biggest Eurovision preview night featuring all the songs taking part in this year’s contest.

You’ll get to watch the videos from all 43 countries (don’t worry, the bar is open throughout!) heading to Stockholm in May, and then award your Douze Points to your favourite.

And this year we have a celebrity host! The fabulous Martin Fitch, Poland’s representative in 2010, will be joining us fresh from his starring role in teh Vauxhall Tavern’s 2015 Christmas Panto, “Charming Dick”.

Karl BBC Promo cropPlus, as a special guest, we’re proud to present Karl William Lund. Karl took part in this year’s UK national final, “Eurovision: You Decide” with his anthemic song “Miracle”, which beat hundreds of competitors to be the choice of the UK’s Eurovision fan club, OGAE. Even though he didn’t win the ticket to Stockholm, he became an instant hit with fans and we are delighted to bring him to the Eurofest stage.

And, as if that wasn’t enough fun for one evening, we’ll have four hours of Eurovision hits and remixes from the UK’s leading Eurovision DJs Dave Simmons, Don Grant and John Hagley. Schlagertastic!

For the preview show, doors open from 7pm, and the show kicks off at 8pm prompt. Get there early to get a front row seat! The preview show will be by ticket in advance at tiny.cc/europreview (£6 plus 60p booking fee), and only available on the door if there are any tickets left. We’ve sold out for the last two years so don’t say we didn’t warn you!

If you want to save all the songs until May then you’re welcome to join us from 11pm onwards and pay £8 on the door as usual.

Our 4th birthday with special guest Linda Martin!

Linda MartinOMG, we’re four year’s old!

We will be celebrating our birthday in style at London’s historic Royal Vauxhall Tavern on Friday 22 January. To help us celebrate we will be joined by EUROVISION WINNER Linda Martin!

Linda won the Eurovision Song Contest for Ireland in 1992, kicking off Ireland’s amazing winning streak. Her song “Why Me?” was written by Irish Eurovision legend Johnny Logan and went on to be a hit across Europe. Linda was also runner-up in Eurovision 1984 with fan favourite, “Terminal 3”, now sung by Eurovision fans any time they go to an airport!

Since winning Eurovision, Linda has continued to appear on TV and stage in Ireland. She has also continued to perform her Eurovision songs across Europe and secured her place in the heart of fans after her forthright views when judging Ireland’s Eurovision selection show (yes, we all know which incident we’re referring to).

Of course we’ll also have six hours of non-stop Eurovision, Europop and Schlager all night long, provided by the UK’s leading Eurovision DJ’s Dave Simmons, Don Grant and John Hagley.

As ever we’ll open the doors at 9pm with admission just £5 before 10.30pm and £8 afterwards. An absolute bargain to see a live performance from a Eurovision legend and six hours of Euro-tastic tunes!

2016 Dates for your diary

Eurofest – the UK’s biggest club night dedicated to the Eurovision Song Contest – is back for 2016!

Taking place at London’s historic and listed Royal Vauxhall Tavern, Eurofest features six hours of non-stop Eurovision, Europop and Schlager, plus of course a live act.

See you there on:

  • January 22nd
  • April 22nd
  • July 22nd

In the meantime, the team at Eurofest would like to wish all our supporters a Merry Christmas, and a Eurotastic 2016!

Sestre are flying in for the next Eurofest!

Sestre croppedHappy new year (that’s happy new Eurovision year of course)! September marks the start of a new Eurovision year, and already countries have started choosing their song for 2016. The Dutch have certainly wasted no time in choosing their artist, Douwe Bob, to represent them in Stockholm.

The wheels are in motion for our next Eurofest on Friday 13 November, as ever at London’s historic (and now Grade II listed) Royal Vauxhall Tavern. As well as the usual six hours of Eurovision and Europop from our trio of fab DJs Dave Simmons, Don Grant and John Hagley, we’ve got another fab trio as our live act.

Flying in from Ljubljana will be Sestre, who represented Slovenia in Eurovision 2002! Marlenna, Emperatrizz, and Daphne took to the stage in Tallinn with the unforgettable “Samo Ljubezen“. No one can forget their glamorous red flight attendant outfits and striking red lipstick!

Since then they’ve performed all over Europe, including an appearance on the UK’s notorious “Eurotrash” show, and we’re expecting a memorable performance from them at Eurofest.

As ever, doors will open at 9pm and we charge the bargain price of £5 admission before 10.30pm and £8 after.

You can keep up to date on Facebook by signing up to our event page.
