Magnus Carlsson – January 2017
Magnus Carlsson has taken part in Melodifestivalen an amazing eight times (so far!) and is a true schlager superstar.
Magnus was originally the lead singer of Barbados, who had several hits in the Nineties before taking part in Melodifestivalen for the first time in 2000. They came second with their song “Se mig”, and came second again the following year with “Allt som jag ser”. Magnus’s final Melodifestivalen song with Barbados was in 2002, finishing fourth with “Världen utanför”.
In 2002 Magnus left Barbados and joined Alcazar. He sang twice in Melodifestivalen with Alcazar. Firstly in 2003 with “Not a Sinner, Nor a Saint” and in 2005 with “Alcastar”, both songs coming third in the final.
Magnus went solo in 2006 and participated in that year’s Melodifestivalen with “Lev livet!”, reaching the final and finishing eighth. He took part again in 2007 but sadly didn’t get past the semi-final with “Live Forever”.
Magnus returned to Melodifestivalen in 2015 with his fabulous song “Möt mig i Gamla stan”, which finished ninth in the final but has become a Eurofest dancefloor favourite.
