Krista Siegfrids – January 2019
Krista Siegfrids is a Swedo-Finnish pop star. She started her career in musicals and a pop group before taking part in Uuden Musiikin Kilpailu (UMK), the Finnish selection for Eurovision, in 2013.
Her song “Marry Me” achieved the highest marks from both the jury vote and the public vote, winning the latter with over a third of all the possible votes. This gave her the chance to perform the song at Eurovision in Malmo.
In the semi final Krista came 9th so qualified for the final. Unfortunately she finished with only 13 points, coming in 24th out of 26 artists.
Since then Krista has been no stranger to UMK, hosting the show in 2016, 2017 and 2018.
But of course it isn’t just Finland that Krista has tried to represent in Eurovision. Krista has also taken part in Sweden’s Melodifestivalen twice – in 2016 with “Faller” and again the year after with “Snurra Min Jord”. Sadly each time Krista’s songs didn’t make it out of the semi final.
