Despite the cancellation of the 2020 Eurovision Song Contest, our preview vote still took place, albeit online.
We’d like to thank our annual co-hosts of the preview vote, Paul Marks-Jones from Boom-Bang-A-Bang, and all those of you watched the live stream in your hundreds!
It was a runaway winner for Iceland, so congratulations to Daði Freyr and Gagnamagnið, for taking the Eurofest preview crown for 2020.
We hope we can see you back the our usual home at London’s Royal Vauxhall Tavern on Friday 3rd July.
Due to the current rules on social distancing, and the temporary closure of our wonderful home at the RVT, our preview night cannot of course take its usual format.
However, fear not….
We are delighted to confirm that the preview show will take place online. Together we will watch the videos of all the songs in this year’s (now cancelled!) contest and then we want your votes for which song should have been the winner in Rotterdam.
For more details, check the event page here.
We’ve had some great live acts over the past 18 months, but we’re quietly confident that Friday’s appearance by Hera Björk was our best so far. Thanks to all of you for coming along to the Royal Vauxhall Tavern, we hope you enjoyed it as much as we did. Hera went down a storm, and told us how much she enjoyed performing for you.
Keep checking back for updates – but save the date now for our next Eurofest: Friday 8 November!
Today’s the day we’ve all been waiting for – Eurofest returns to the RVT tonight from 9pm. With over 200 people already confirmed on Facebook we’re expecting a big crowd, so get there early! Anyone there before 11pm with a flyer – which you can print off from our website if you don’t have one already – gets in for the bargain price of just £5! Our standard price is still a great value £8. Hera’s out and about enjoying the sunshine, and preparing herself for what will be a fantastic show tonight. She’ll be on from midnight – and we’ve also got six hours of non-stop Eurovision, Europop and Schlager!
