Iceland win 2020 preview vote

Despite the cancellation of the 2020 Eurovision Song Contest, our preview vote still took place, albeit online.

We’d like to thank our annual co-hosts of the preview vote, Paul Marks-Jones from Boom-Bang-A-Bang, and all those of you watched the live stream in your hundreds!

It was a runaway winner for Iceland, so congratulations to Daði Freyr and Gagnamagnið, for taking the Eurofest preview crown for 2020.

We hope we can see you back the our usual home at London’s Royal Vauxhall Tavern on Friday 3rd July.

You can view the whole show here and watch the announcement of the results here.

Eurofest preview vote 2020 – now online!

Eurofest logo v2Due to the current rules on social distancing, and the temporary closure of our wonderful home at the RVT, our preview night cannot of course take its usual format.

However, fear not….

We are delighted to confirm that the preview show will take place online. Together we will watch the videos of all the songs in this year’s (now cancelled!) contest and then we want your votes for which song should have been the winner in Rotterdam.

For more details, check the event page here.

Who will be this year’s winner?

Eurofest logo v3Eurofest is again teaming up with Manchester’s Boom-Bang-a-Bang party for the UK’s biggest Eurovision preview vote on Good Friday April 10th at the RVT.

We’re making it an extra special Good Friday by playing all the entries for this year’s contest and then YOU decide who should be the winner in Rotterdam!

There’s something for everyone in this year’s contest – Balkan bangers, Icelandic geek pop, Ukrainian electro-folk and even a decent song from the UK.

Plus of course all the Eurovision, Europop and Schlager hits and remixes from DJ’s Don Grant, John Hagley and Dave Simmons.

For the preview show, doors open at 8pm, with the show getting underway at 8:20pm prompt. Tickets are available online now for just £7 or on the door for £8.

MF Eurofest 2020
Hej hej Clapham!

We have teamed up with the Two Brewers in Clapham for the second year running to do a live screening of the Melodifestivalen 2020 final on their big screen, so you can watch Sweden choosing their song for this year’s Eurovision Song Contest.

This year’s MF line-up looks like one of the strongest in a few years so it will be great to watch the show together. And of course there’s a former Eurofest artist who has made it through to the final – Anna Bergendahl. We’re probably biased, but that’s our favourite in Eurofest HQ!

The date is of course Saturday 7th March and doors will open at 6pm, with the TV show starting at 7pm. We will have some seats and some standing space, so get there early if you do want a seat. We’ve got the room until at least 10.30pm so there will be a bit of time for a Mello-afterparty once the show is over, with a playlist of MF songs old and new.

Tickets are just £3 (plus booking fee) so get yours now!

Proud to welcome Tamara

Another decade, another Eurofest. The UK’s biggest Eurovision, Europop and Schlager club night is kicking off 2020 celebrating our EIGHTH birthday on Friday 10th January!

And after bringing 2019’s televote winners to London last time, we are now PROUD to welcome the 2019 jury vote winner, the stunning TAMARA TODEVSKA.

Tamara achieved North Macedonia’s best result ever at Eurovision 2019 with her powerful anthem “Proud”. She also flew the flag for her home country in 2008 with “Let Me Love You” so is no stranger to the Eurovision stage.

And as ever we will have SEVEN hours of the best Eurovision, Europop and Schlager hits and remixes from our DJs Dave Simmons, Don Grant and John Hagley.

Doors at the Royal Vauxhall Tavern open at 9.00pm and we will be playing the hits through to 4.00am.

Tickets are £6.50 in advance, or £8 on the door.

KEiiNO klaxon!

Keiino in london smile small

Our next Eurofest will be our 30th edition – and we’ve decided to party in style!

We are proud and excited to be bringing to the Royal Vauxhall Tavern, London the “people’s choice” of Eurovision 2019, the fabulous KEiiNO, on Friday 8th November.

The Norwegian trio have been the ultimate fan favourite, winning this year’s televote, with the brilliant “Spirit in the Sky” and they will be bringing their spectacular show to the RVT stage.

But that’s not all….!

Eurofest is delighted to be hosting the return of the Second Cherry contest – a celebration of songs that competed in contests across Europe for the chance to represent their countries at Eurovision – but failed. Second Cherry is their second chance; a second bite of the cherry.

After a few years hiatus, the Second Cherry team are back for 2019 accompanied by a podcast and they will be hosting the live ‘final’ at the start of Eurofest (7:45-10pm).

The audience on the night will vote as juries and form 50% of the vote. The other 50% will be from an online vote of the Second Cherry podcast listeners. Turn up, enjoy the show, vote, and then party!

Plus of course all the best Eurovision, Europop and Schlager hits and remixes from our team of DJs Don Grant, John Hagley and Dave Simmons.

Tickets are on sale now. There are two categories of ticket:

  • one allows entry ALL EVENING FROM 7PM, giving you Second Cherry, Eurofest and KEiiNO;
  • one allows entry AFTER 10pm, to ensure you get Eurofest and of course KEiiNO

Both priced at £10, the two categories are purely to manage numbers at Second Cherry.

Keep up to date with news about this event on our Facebook event page and Twitter.

This is our life, my friend!

Anna 2Gosh, it’s been a while! It seems ages since our preview night back in March.
But we don’t believe in a Eurovision off-season, which is why we’re holding another summer spectacular of Eurovision, Europop and Schlager on Friday 9th August as ever at the fabulous Royal Vauxhall Tavern in London.

For our live act we’re giddy with excitement to be joined by one of the big come-back stars of this year, the fantastic Anna Bergendahl!

Almost a decade since she represented Sweden at Eurovision with “This Is My Life“, she’s back in 2019 looking and sounding better than ever, taking Melfest by storm with the brilliant “Ashes to Ashes“.

And of course we’ve got a night of Eurotastic hits and remixes courtesy of the UK’s leading team of Eurovision DJs – Don Grant, John Hagley and Dave Simmons.

Tickets are £6.50 (+fee) in advance, or £8 on the door.

Doors open 9.00pm, Anna is on stage at Midnight, and we will be partying through to 3.00am.

Hello London, may we have your votes please?

We are once again teaming up with Manchester’s Boom Bang a Bang party for the UK’s biggest Eurovision preview vote on Friday March 22nd at the RVT.

We’ll be playing all the entries for this year’s contest and then YOU decide who should be the winner in Tel Aviv.

And if that wasn’t enough, we’re heading to the Balkans for our live act – we’re really excited to be giving the stage to the fabulous EYE CUE!

The North Macedonian pair – Bojan Trajkovski and Marija Ivanovska – were responsible for the brilliant Lost and Found in Eurovision 2018, and have won countless awards and released three albums over the past decade. They will be performing a set that is full of Eurovision pop bangers!

Plus of course all the Eurovision and Europop hits and remixes from DJ’s Don Grant, John Hagley and Dave Simmons.

For the preview show, doors open at 7pm, and the show kicks off at 7:45pm prompt. Get there early to get a front row spot.

Tickets for the preview show are limited to 150 and only available online, for £6.50. But if you want to save the songs until May and just come along for a night of Eye Cue and Euroclubbing, join us from 10.30pm and it’ll be £8 on the door.

Ding dong – it’s Krista calling

Ding dong! Eurofest is back for 2019 on Friday 11th January!

To celebrate our seventh birthday we’ll have a live appearance from Finland’s fabulous Krista Siegfrids. She has been loved by Eurovision and Schlager fans everywhere since taking to the stage in Malmö in 2013 with the infectious Marry Me. Since then she’s taken part twice in Melodifestivalen and has been a host of Finland’s national final, Uuden Musikiin Kilpailu.

Her live set is full of Eurovision classics – just what London needs on a cold January night.

And as ever we are at the fantastic Royal Vauxhall Tavern and we’ll have six hours of the best hits and remixes courtesy of the UK’s leading team of Eurovision, Europop and Schlager DJs – Don Grant, John Hagley and Dave Simmonds.

Tickets in advance at £6.50, and on the door for £8.

Are you a Wild Child?

Ace Wilder Lower ResIf you’re Busy Doin’ Nothing over the next few months, Don’t Worry because Eurofest is back with a real Wild Child!

As ever we will be at London’s RVT, and for our next event on Friday 12th October we will have a live performance from the fabulous Ace Wilder!

Ace – or Alice Gernandt as her parents know her – has taken part in Sweden’s Eurovision selection show, Melodifestivalen, on no less than three occasions, qualifying for the final each time, and including two top three places.

In 2014 she was runner up by just two points with Busy Doin’ Nothing, following this up with Don’t Worry in 2016 and Wild Child in 2017.

In addition to her Melodifestivalen performances, Ace is an accomplished dancer and performer and we can guarantee a Eurotastic show.

Of course we’ll also be playing the best in Eurovision, Europop and Schlager hits and remixes, old and new for six euphoric hours.

And you can get all this for just £6.50 in advance or £8 if you pay on the door.
